Revelstoke Backcountry Guides Inc. Waiver Requirement, Reservations and Cancellation Policy
Waiver
All guests must complete our Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks, and Indemnity Agreement ("the Waiver") both electronically at booking and in person at trip start.
Please review the waiver thoroughly and acknowledge the inherent risks associated with backcountry ski touring.
Terms and Conditions
It is essential that all guests review the following Terms and Conditions. By submitting an electronic waiver, booking form, deposit, or payment, you agree to be legally bound by the terms outlined below.
In this document, the entity known as Revelstoke Backcountry Guides Inc., referred to as "we," “our” and "us," is the provider of the backcountry experiences and services described in our marketing materials and as detailed in your booking confirmation. The property known as Hemlock Hut is referred to as the “hut” in the conditions below.
Booking & Payment Policy
All bookings—including individual spaces and full hut reservations—include helicopter transfers from Revelstoke, BC (unless otherwise specified), accommodations at Hemlock Hut, meals, and professional ACMG guiding services.
A 25% deposit is required to confirm any reservation with Revelstoke Backcountry Guides Inc.
The remaining balance is due 120 days prior to the start of your trip.
Accepted payment methods: wire transfer, e-transfer, EFT, or credit card (subject to a 2.9% service fee).
All payments are final and non-refundable, except as specified in the Cancellation Policy.
If payment is not received on time, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation without refund.
All pricing is in Canadian Dollars and subject to 5% GST. If paying in another currency, the exchange rate used will be the rate set by our bank on the date of payment.
Minors and Group Organizers
Guests under 19 are only permitted with prior written approval. A legal guardian must accompany and ski with the minor and complete the waiver on their behalf.
For hut takeovers, the lead organizer must submit contact details (name and email) for all group members upon confirmation. We will contact each guest to complete the required booking form and waiver. Failure to complete these forms 30 days before the trip may result in denied participation.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received in writing more than 120 days before the trip are refundable minus a $500 admin fee.
Cancellations within 120 days of the trip are non-refundable.
Reservations may be transferred to another adult with our written approval. We reserve the right to deny a replacement. If we assist in a payment transfer, a $300 admin fee will be charged.
We are not responsible for finding replacement guests.
No refunds will be issued for:
Guest inability to attend (e.g., injury, illness, travel delays, passport issues, family emergencies).
Weather delays impacting helicopter transport (including extra costs for food, lodging, or transportation).
Missed or shortened trips due to weather or conditions.
Guests unable to participate due to injury or illness.
Poor or disappointing snow conditions.
Guest Responsibility
Guests are responsible for:
Arriving on time at the designated meeting location, packed and ready.
Organizing their own travel to Revelstoke.
Paying for an additional helicopter if they miss the scheduled transfer.
Hemlock Hut personal gear limit: 16 kg (35 lbs), excluding skis, poles, and clothing worn during the transfer. One pair of skis or one snowboard per guest. Guests must repack if they exceed these limits. Neither Hemlock Hut nor Arrow Helicopters is responsible for storing excess items.
Conduct and Safety
All guests must follow guide and hut staff instructions at all times.
We reserve the right to refuse or remove any guest who poses a safety risk or fails to follow directions, at their own expense.
Alcohol, cannabis, or other intoxicants may not be consumed before or during ski touring activities.
Guests must inform us in advance of any medical conditions, allergies, dietary needs, or changes to contact information.
We are located in the remote Selkirk Mountains, known for excellent conditions but subject to variable weather. We expect guests to maintain a positive attitude—even when conditions are less than ideal—as this significantly improves the group experience.
Insurance
Life is unpredictable—so is travel. We strongly recommend that all guests purchase trip cancellation, interruption, and emergency medical evacuation insurance within 72 hours of booking.
For international guests: ensure your policy includes adequate medical coverage in Canada.
Revelstoke Backcountry Guides Inc. will provide documentation to support insurance claims.
We do not sell travel insurance but recommend Acera Insurance, who understand remote backcountry travel needs.
